Field Life Artist Beth Campbell further explores the realm of multi-media as she incorporates wheat stalks from her field in her artwork. She felt that it is necessary to remember that there is life in fields; and when farmers spray their fields, it is not only the "bad" pests that are affected. Spraying for pests is an extremely touchy subject, in particular spraying out the wheat midge. There is such a short time frame that the spray will affect wheat midge, and the spray that kills the midge kills everything. This 16x32" painting is sealed to protect and preserve the wheat. It can be washed if it becomes dirty or dusty. This painting was SOLD for $550.00 at the live auction for Artists Against Hunger in March 2013. SOLD |
